The Big Dig

We had The Big Dig (Moses Lake style) here yesterday. Christopher is working in the Moses Lake area, and had a front-end loader in town, so we put it to good use yesterday by leveling the lot next door. The lot is nice and clean, and ready for grass! I'm planting a low-growing, slow-growing grass over there, not to be mowed on a weekly basis. At least so it says....

This is from the back of the lot looking towards the street. See all the new development in my area? Hrmph!

The wildflower garden (such as it was....) is gone, some items were moved to the flower bed in front of the kitchen window, others were given away to a co-worker. The rest were scraped off. I'm going to plant grass there for now, but I hope some of the wildflowers make it... I had the prettiest white daisies I hope will come back.
They grow in little bunches, and really like the dry conditions over there.

Kharsyn and Brady were here also. I bought Kharsyn a "Bob the Builder" hard hat, so he looked very official riding on the front-end loader with Chris! Actually, it's a baseball batting hat, but let's not tell him.

BGF Glenda's son Mark was over here with a friend, mowing the sides of the lot and weeding, and found six little bunny babies. Wild kingdom here!

I've been spending time with Heather and the boys in Yakima. Seems like time is just flying by, when I get home I've totally missed some things blooming in the garden, or just got to enjoy them for a day or two before they were done! The boys are getting so big, these days! They are able to do so much for themselves...well, sometimes mom needs to point out that they really can do things by themselves! I enjoy being with them, especially with Hunter who has come soooooo far these last couple of years!! And, I really love Heathers new house; it was built the same year there abouts, as our house. It has a full basement, and first and second floor. But, only one bathroom. Sad.

Anyway, Matt came for me on Saturday, and did some plumbing work for Heather, hooked up her washer and dryer, and fixed a lot of leaky pipes! And, brought me home just so he could enjoy watching me in the throes of some horrible intestinal bug! I was sick for 3 days, it was awful! But, anyway that's where I've been and what I've been doing!

Matt is building our deck alongside our living room, and in a couple of weeks the wall is going to get knocked out and french doors installed...it's going to be terrific! That's my summer so far...hope you guys are doing something that's fun! t

Those Slow, Lazy Days of Summer!

Not too much going on in Moses Lake right now - just enjoying those slow, lazy days of summer, well, I get to enjoy them a minute or two.

I have been busy catching up with the yard work, and cleaning up Kiefer.

Kiefer is such a cute little house, and sure has a lot of memories. Trying to fix things up on a dime, bedrooms that will always be "Chris's room, Quincy's room, Dad's closet", etc. I can't believe that light carpet lasted so long, but it was replaced about two years ago. Now the downstairs carpet will be replaced. It would be a great house if you added on one big room at the back. I can't believe the view - which can't be seen other than the bathroom and kitchen window!

So what's going on in your lives? Love to all - Mo

It's A Girl!

Or will be in November! Quincy & Lexi will welcome Keeley Ann to our big blue marble in November. Keeley is Lexi's maiden name. I told her she should name it W*slawski Ann, but she just smiled and declined! Jeez.....

Kesiah is excited about having a baby sister, as are Quincy and Lexi. Quincy thinks one present for each girl will work at Christmas, little does he know! Kesiah was mad because she didn't get to tell anyone about her sister, so I pretended I didn't know and asked her if she had a secret. She started hopping around screaming "I'm going to have a SISTER!" We know sisters are special, don't we?

Last night the Big Guy took me over for his mother's birthday dinner. Boy, the look on her face was priceless, and of course she asked about you Trudy! It was a nice dinner, and everyone was very kind.

Thanks for your kind words on my friends passing Margi. I was surprised about the number of calls and emails I received, checking on how I was doing. I have to shake my head, thinking I went to a grief counselor a whole year ago! A girl ahead of her time, that's me. I did hear from his caretaker he did convert, Trudy, so maybe he will be there for what you were talking about. But no matter what, the time I spent with him the last year is a treasure, and that's all I will say about that.

And no Kate, I'm not posting my poem.

I'm off to battle gophers in the yard - love to all - Mo

Well, here is some pic's, from our vacation at 7 Bays, that's Matt, Braydon, Kaylee, and me in the back working my fanny off! And, the boys came over this weekend, and they got to ride Grandpa's Honda, and that was a blast for them, apparently they haven't ever been on a motorcycle. They worked next to grandpa, removing bricks from the side of the house where we will be putting our double doors. Fun!

Back to Real Life

We are back from 9 days in the Phoenix area. The house closed on the 20th, and Big Guy and I flew down two days later. We had a problem with the water not being turned on, but fixed that. Then we had to wait until Tuesday to get HOT water, but you really didn't need it for bathing, as the ground water is comfortable to bathe in at night.

We ran around like chickens the first few days looking at furniture, then arranging delivery. I would post pictures but guess what - I misplaced my camera. But we pretty well got the great room furnished....some new, some garage sale, but it looks nice. I really needed some decorative items, and we found some nice Italian glass and pottery pieces that adds some color.

Sorry to hear about Shadow, Trudy - I'm sure he will be missed. A good dog is a wonderful companion.

Spooky and Molli were quite happy to see me! Gosh - they like me!

The weeds are nice and tall, so I have my work cut out for me this week. Brady took care of the yard, and did a good job, only a few burned out spots. The new trees survived, and I will actually have strawberries soon! Some of the roses are blooming, as well as the peonies. Oh, for a camera....

Hope everyone is well - love to all - Mo
